Paxton Pits Nature Reserve is a delightful place to visit to enjoy the Ouse Valley countryside and its special wildlife.
Every spring nightingales undertake a perilous journey from their winter retreat in Africa to travel to Europe, and Paxton Pits is where some of them choose to make their home, as they breed here over spring and summer.
Imagine the loss to future generations if these birds were to disappear. Our grandchildren might only hear a recording or see a film – the real experience gone forever.
The Friends of Paxton Pits work hard to preserve this special place for wildlife and for generations of people to enjoy.
Help us to make a difference by leaving a gift to the Friends of Paxton Pits in your will.
We look to the future with optimism as we wish – most respectfully – to ask all those who support the Reserve to think about leaving a legacy in their Will to help safeguard this special place for future generations.
Legacy gifts are exempt from Inheritance Tax so the full value of your gift will be received by your chosen charity.
What your legacy could do:
Survey equipment or interpretative signs on the Reserve to help tell the story of the wildlife
Plant 100m of new hedge for wildlife to thrive
Improve 700 square metres of scrub habitat for nightingales to nest in or build an information shelter or viewing screen
Construct 50m of all-ability access footpath
