Moth trapping at Paxton Pits with Barry Dickerson

    9 August, 2019

A rare opportunity to see the moths on the reserve. This is a small group activity for members of the Friends of Paxton Pits only, beginning at 8.30pm until late. A mercury vapour light will be operated on a pole over a white sheet which will be placed on the ground. This will attract the moths and other insects. Moths landing on the sheet will be boxed for identification and then released at the end of the session.

Dark warm clothes and a torch are essential. A groundsheet will be provided for seating.

This event is weather dependent. In case of strong wind or rain it will be cancelled.

    £2.50 each – only 12 available

Tickets will be available from the Visitor Centre at the beginning of July and contact details will be required.
