Coronavirus (COVID-19) update

Please note that the paths and bird hides at the Nature Reserve remain open, but we ask that all visitors respect the quarantine rules and keep their distance from other people using the space. If you have Covid-19 symptoms or have tested positive, please self-isolate at home.

The Visitor Centre and toilets are now open Saturday-Thursday, 11am-3pm. There is a one-way system and social distancing measures in place, and only card payments are accepted.

We are also supporting the NHS test and trace system. Please download the NHS test and trace app and scan the unique QR code at the Visitor Centre. This is to help keep everyone safe and keep the virus under control. For more details about the NHS test and trace app please visit the official website at covid19.nhs.uk.

Many of our events remain cancelled, though our Third Thursday walks, some of our wildlife survey groups and our work parties have started up again in a Covid-secure way.

Ordinarily, The Friends of Paxton Pits Nature Reserve organises a wide range of activities and events to help raise funds for the Reserve. These range from talks and demonstrations to celebrations and tick ‘n’ twitch days. Events are open to all unless otherwise stated.

Please phone if you have any special needs, in particular, regarding the use of wheelchairs and pushchairs. (Visitors’ Centre: 01480 406795)

Visitors are advised to wear suitable clothing for outdoor events with strong boots or shoes, and hats in the summer sun.

Third Thursday Guided Walks are back!
