Coronavirus (COVID-19) update
Due to the recommendations from government and the ongoing social distancing guidelines, Huntingdonshire District Council have made the decision to close their Countryside Service Centres to the public.
Therefore, until further notice, the Visitor Centre, including the toilets at Paxton Pits Nature Reserve are now closed. All Work Parties, Events and Wildlife Surveys will cease until further notice.
The paths will remain open but please keep a 2m distance from other people who may be out for a walk.
Ordinarily, The Friends of Paxton Pits Nature Reserve organises a wide range of activities and events to help raise funds for the Reserve. These range from talks and demonstrations to celebrations and tick ‘n’ twitch days. Events are open to all unless otherwise stated.
Please phone if you have any special needs, in particular, regarding the use of wheelchairs and pushchairs. (Visitors’ Centre: 01480 406795)
Visitors are advised to wear suitable clothing for outdoor events with strong boots or shoes, and hats in the summer sun.
Cancelled: Bird Watching Walk for Beginners

A guided walk with Teresa Brown.
‘Terry’ has been a member of the RSPB for over 40 years and as a volunteer has been leading RSPB 'Birds for Beginners walks' for the last 10 years at the Lodge reserve in Sandy. She has had a lifelong passion for birds, including at University in Norfolk where she
spent time on the reserves on the Norfolk coast. She is involved with the Breeding Bird surveys and other surveys for the British Trust for Ornithology.
Tickets £2.50 per person
Available at the Visitor Centre from 1st June.
Restricted to 10 people.
