The Friends of Paxton Pits Nature Reserve organises activities and events to help raise awareness of the Reserve. These include monthly guided walks, talks on a wide range of wildlife topics and surveys of the reserve. Events are free and open to all unless otherwise stated.

Please phone if you have any special needs, in particular, regarding the use of wheelchairs and pushchairs. (Visitors’ Centre: 01480 406795)

Visitors are advised to wear suitable clothing for outdoor events with strong boots or shoes, and hats in the summer sun.

Although thought of as exotic plants found in remote places, there are over 50 species found in the British Isles. Half of these are found in the Beds and Cambs area and some of them are very rare.

Come and find out about their range of habitats and their fascinating natural history.
