Our first butterfly/dragonfly survey of the year is on Saturday, the 25th of April, from 10.00 to 12.30 (note the new times).
We are taking a different approach this year, focusing on particular species or areas each time. This time, our main target is the grizzled skipper, our newest butterfly on the reserve. We’ll look at how far it has spread from its original location as well as counting individuals. There should also be time to look for other butterflies and early damselflies along the Meadow Trail.
This is a friendly group of members. If you are interested in coming along, please contact friends@paxton-pits.org.uk for more information. You do not need to be an expert to join us.
You can find our full survey programme for 2026 here.
